Welcome to the Family, Fritz, Levi and sunshine! Update as of 8/18/22: These horses came in from an owner surrender on August 15, 2022. Dr Kemper came and administered vaccines, checked teeth, and pulled bloodwork on Levi to evaluate for Cushings. Levi and Sunshine have some weight to lose, all will eventually need a teeth float, and ponies appear to be serviceable sound. Fritz has begun in professional training. More info to follow. These three rescue angels are coming to AGHR on Monday, August 15, from a large scale, seven-horse rescue endeavor in Santa Paula. They were originally rescued from kill pens in Texas and taken to a riding school in Santa Paula, CA, but the school is closing down and did not have the funds/ability to train these horses or find them good adoptive homes. The other four rescues are being sent to another sanctuary in The Homes For Horses Coalition by referral through AGHR. We need sponsorship and donations immediately to help our foster purchase corral panels to separate the ponies from her two draft horses and Levi, the Belgian draft gelding she will be helping us care for. We also need sponsorship to help us pay for training, as the ponies are minimally handled and have no training. We also need sponsorship for medical and farrier care for all three, as well as ongoing care for feeding, grooming, health, and well-being.
