join our board of directors in 2025

We are recruiting a full new Board of Directors for 2025. Seeking dedicated, passionate, proactive, collaborative team-players for an exciting and fulfilling volunteer experience. Ideal candidates are over the age of 18, live locally within 15 miles of Simi Valley, CA, and have experience in leadership, nonprofit management, volunteering and group project development. We are seeking individuals with diverse backgrounds and expertise, who can add to our mission and drive forward our community outreach, equine-assisted learning and fundraising programs, and who truly care about equine welfare both locally and globally. We have the following positions available for a 12 month volunteer term:

• Board President (Governing Committee Chair)
• Board Treasurer
• Board Secretary
• Volunteer Coordinator
• Social Media / Marketing Director
• Community Outreach & Events Director (Community Programs Committee Chair)
• Fundraising / Bequests Officer (Financial Committee Chair)
• Director of Program Development (EAL Committee Chair)
• Director of Operations (Executive Committee Chair)
• Assistant Director, EAL Horse Powered Reading Program
• Pro-Bono Natural Horsemanship Trainer / Horse Husbandry Volunteer Mentor

All of these positions will require a minimum of 10 hours per month service time, with meetings typically held on Saturdays, but flexible and can be remote virtual meetings. Board of Directors meet 3 to 4 times per quarter to review programs, budget, and pertinent information. Committee Chairs will develop their own scheduled meetings and build their committees to promote our current programs and develop new programs for 2025 - 2026. We welcome college students/interns looking for credit and experience in nonprofit charity leadership and management. This is also a great experience for someone looking to develop skills to use in the workforce in the future.
