aghr enters the world of horse powered readingHorse Powered ReadingWe are thrilled to announce that we are offering Experiential Equine Assisted Learning and Horse Powered Reading beginning in June 2021! Our Director, Deborah Greene-Dellvon, has completed a course to become a Horse Powered Reading Facilitator. This amazing course was offered through Cross P Ranch and Concordia University and was developed by Dr. Michele Pickel, offering Equine Assisted Learning to use in the classroom or EAL arena setting. This course adheres to EAGALA standards, and makes reading skills visible and physical for all students. By becoming a HPR Facilitator, Deborah hopes to break-through social-emotional barriers through active engagement in literacy activities using some of the rescue horses/ponies in our organization as Teachers and interactive Support Providers to youth in need. We are very excited about the impact that our senior equines can make on our community and look forward to some summer activities involving Horse Powered Reading. You can learn more at www.horsepoweredreading.com. We are actively recruiting new Volunteers to participate in Program Development Planning and assisting with Horse Powered Reading this summer.
